Personal history

Born Joshua Dayton Moore, Josh is the ninth of the Original Squad. Under the subject name “Treeblade”, he was raised to be the most soldier-like of them all. While they all held characteristics of the soldiers they would become, Josh was the most obedient and dutiful. He was one of the first to begin losing his mind to the experiments and brainwashing, and as a result has one of the most bloodthirsty histories - besides Erik’s. He was always distant from his honourary siblings, but felt close to them nonetheless; protecting and sheltering them from harm.
Despite his obedience, however, Josh was one of the weakest fighters, and very often found himself in trouble or injured. The Controller realised this, and began thinking of ways to improve the boy’s abilities. He eventually captured a young vampire and conducted various altering experiments on her; esentially mutating her genes and splicing them with Josh’s. This had the effect he desired - Josh’s reflexes became near impeccable, and his senses heightened, taking him from one of the worst to one of the best fighters in the group.

The Controller did not count on his breaking free from conditioning, however - as many of his siblings regained themselves, so did he; although in secret. At the battle which took place at Loch of Lowes, he allowed himself to be wounded in such a way that would be fatal to anyone. The Controller had not yet discovered what were to happen if he were wounded, and so left him for dead. He lay still and quiet for hours; allowing Erik and Tori to bury him and believe he was dead, and has lived peacefully in solitude ever since.
