Fyre
The nation of Fyre is a powerful human civilization. It has been prosperous for a long time but has recently started to face a lot of problems.
Structure
The Kingdom is ruled by King Fyre, a title and name which has been passed from father to son for generations. Just below the King are his trusted and powerful seven advisors:
- the Scorched Commander, the most powerful rank in Fyre's military. Has been given a small part of the Forn-flame and has been forever scarred for it.
- the Curator of Wealth, the nation's treasurer.
- the King's Shadow, the spymaster and personal bodyguard to the King.
- the Royal Professor, the highest position of science, knowledge and magic. The principal of the Kalberg-university.
- Sarenrae's Archbishop of Fyre.
- Hand of the Law, the state-judge who puts the nation's laws into practice and guides his subordinates.
- the Fyrekeeper, the voice of the commonfolk.
Assets
The land of Fyre is covered in farm-filled plains and dense forests, which its inhabitants mainly sustain from. Mining-work is also very common. Thus food, lumber and stone are common resources. By the east coast lies several fishing and naval villages, in particular Slökport, which has become an important trading-city with other humans and the powerful elves of Fjordell. In fact, trading with their plentiful resources is Fyre's main source of wealth.
History
Before Fyre existed, the area was ruled by the mighty dragons. But like the other races who were slaves to the scaly beasts, the humans wanted freedom. And one man, Gustav Decke, managed to find the legendary Forn-flame. With its power in his possession he traveled as far as he could, inspiring his fellow humans to fight. They did, and also started to cooperate with other races and groups of humans. Together, and with the help of Bahamut and his metallic children, they managed to push back the dragons. And so the land was theirs. Or was it? See, with the continent of Borrovy claimed, the question was who would rule it? The humans had barely tolerated the dwarves and elves in order to defeat the dragons, but that threat was now gone. Man should rule the land, and Decke was no exception to these feelings. He met with the other human-leaders in secret and together they planned to throw out the other races. So began war again. And the humans were victorious, in no small part due to Decke and his Forn-flame. The elves were forced to flee east and west, and the dwarves reverted to the mountains up north. The continent was split among the now first Kings of Man, one of which were Decke. He named his kingdom Fyre and soon thereafter dropped the name of Gustav Decke, naming himself Fyre as well, believing that a king exists only for his kingdom.
Military
The Fyre Military is responsible for defending the nation from outer threats and to uphold the law within the borders. The east is guarded by the nation's navy, while the rest is guarded by land troops. The forces are most of the time spread out throughout the country, serving as law-enforcement under the vassals of their assigned area. Should the threat of war arise, a good portion of the military will
be gathered as an army alongside the vassal's knights to defend their country.
Religion
While the official religion in Fyre is the Church of Sarenrae, the deity of Fire, the worship of any deity is allowed, as long as that worship does not cause harm to others or otherwise breaks Fyre's laws (which means that for instance death cults are forbidden). Besides Sarenrae the most commonly worshipped deities are Erastil and Iomedae.
