Imperial General Staff
The Imperial General Staff (High Draecovian: SKM. tarheenste Generalstab, 'His Imperial Majesty's supreme general staff') is the serving joint military leadership and general staff of Draecovia. It is staffed by professional military officers, and in the spirit of Draecovia's core value of leadership by merit, selected on the basis of demonstrated skill, critical thinking, adaptability, and cunning. The General Staff tends to recruit officers who lack field command or long experience in the service; as such, the bulk of its members are drawn directly from the state officer academy schools.
The senior officers of this organisation comprehend the Great General Staff of the Supreme Command of the Expeditionary Forces (the TKE) of the Empire of Draecovia, though there are General Staffs attached to the High Commands of the service branches as well. The main duties of a General Staff officer are the planning of operations, the study of war, scrutinising existing doctrines, and delegating orders to the military leadership.
Currently, Protector-General of the Guard Infantry George Trafde serves as Chief of the General Staff.
