2981 Regulations 1st Solent Rifles

Number 1: Dress Uniform


Headwear:

Enlisted Ranks: Peak Forage Cap, Black with Rifle Green Band, Cloth Cap badge.
Officer Ranks: Peak Forage Cap, Black with Rifle Green Band, Metal Badge and Rifle Green bands on black peak that represent rank. (based on old RAF system of thick and thin bands)

Tunic:

ER: Black patrol style tunic with 'Mandarin' collar and rifle green India braid around base of the collar.
OF: Identical to ER tunic but with Russian braid around the collar.

Trousers:

ER: Black with 4 cm rifle green stripe down leg.
OF: Black with a 2.5cm stripe down the leg.

Accoutrements:

Rifle green-on-black mud-guard with FIRST RIFLES, uttons are black with royal cypher. Coloured lanyards worn on left side denoting appointments, if applicable (Such as RSM or S-x). Qualification devices, such as para wings, or space wings found high on arm, above rank.

ER: Ranks found on high on sleeves, cloth, silver thread on black backing, previous service edging (Purple for QOARC, Sky blue for Hereford, etc).
WO: WOII
OF: Ranks found on epaulettes boards and peaks, black metal pips and eagles with R-green backing (purple for QOARC, sky blue for Hereford, etc).
Light Infantry Pin (The Bugle) found on left collar. Specialism pin on right collar (Adj, CMT, DMR, Gunners, Radio etc). Metal Buttons with the Royal Monogram embossed.
Light Infantry Pin(The Bugle) found on left collar. Command level pin (plt, coy, batt or reg) on right collar. Staff Officers have staff pin.
Metal clasp, with royal monogram, black Stable belts (JNCOs) 50mm crossbelt and backbox, whistle and royal cypher boss (SNCO).
2806 Pattern Infantry Sword, 2806 sword belt if applicable, ammo boxes, royal cypher and whistles attached to the rifles' 76mm crossbelt.

Full/Royal Reviews.

Number 2: Dress Uniform

Headwear:

ER: Rifle green beret with metal badge.
WO: Peak Forage Cap, Rifle Green, Cloth Badge
OF: Peak Forage Cap, Rifle Green, Rank braid on peak, Metal Badge

Tunic:

Identical to current universal khaki tunic, identical for all ranks

Shirt:

Fawn, identical for all ranks.

Trousers:

Identical to current universal trousers.

Accoutrements:

See Number 1. No mudguards, but Metal shoulder titles saying RIFLES and standard khaki ties. Qualification devices, such as para wings, or space wings found high on arm, above rank.
ER: Ranks found high on sleeves, khaki cloth, rifle green and black, previous appointment backing (Purple backing for QOARC, Sky blue for Hereford, etc).
WO: WOII found low on sleeves, WOI found high on sleeves.
OF: Ranks found on epaulettes boards, black metal stars and crowns with regimental backing, appointments denoted by lanyard, if applicable. 2806 pattern sword to be worn, if applicable.

General Officer reviews, freedoms and general official functions.

Number 3: Barracks long Sleeve:

Headwear:

ER: Beret, Black, Metal badge.
WO: Peak Forage Cap, Rifle Green, Cloth Badge.
OF: Peak Forage Cap, Rifle Green, Rank Braid, Metal Badge OR, Slouch Cap, Rifle Green, Black Boss.

Tunic:

No tunic, but green pullover with epaulettes and fabric rifle green rank tabs with RIFLES embossed.

Shirt:

Fawn, button down.

Trousers:

Khaki wool trousers.

Accoutrements:

See Number 2. Minus the cross belt. Stable belt for all ranks worn above the pullover.

Use:

Cold weather barracks dress.

Number 4: Barracks Shirt Sleeve Order

Headwear:

ER: Beret, Black, Metal Badge.
WO: Peak Forage Cap, Rifle Green, Cloth Badge.
OF: Peak Forage Cap, Rifle Green, Rank braid, Metal Badge OR, Slouch Cap, Rifle Green, Black Boss.

Tunic:

Nothing but shirt.

Shirt:

Fawn button down with fabric rifle green rank tabs with RIFLES

Trousers:

Identical to current universal trousers.

Accoutrements:

See Number 2. Minus the cross belt. Stable belt for all ranks, no tie.

Use:

Temperate weather barracks dress.

Number 5: General Purpose Combat Uniform.

Headwear:

MK 16 'KELSO' Helmet.

Tunic:

Mk 5 HOPLITE Body Armour

Shirt:

Mk 29 Under Body Armour Combat Shirt (UBACS). Is in multiple Camouflage patterns, but most usually a MTP. The parts under the body armour is a relation to current Coolmax material. The arms are carbon nanotube material woven in to ripstop polymer to give some ordnance protection and laser protection are camouflaged. The arms have sections of Velcro that have an United Commonwealth flag, current CAA insignia and Regt TRF, Blood Group and Allergy Information to attached as well as specialism.

Trousers:

Mk 25 Combat Trousers, same Poly-Nanotube Construction as Boots and UBACS.

Accoutrements:

Bell Mk 7 personal Micro-Radios; Pattern 2857 load-bearing rig; EM-9 or EM-5D; KM-9 Pistol; Mk 79 Fighting Knife.

Use:

Combat, general tasks.

Number 6: Mess Dress

Headwear:

ER: Side Cap, Black, Metal Badge.
WO: Peak Forage Cap, Rifle Green, Cloth Badge.
OF: Peak Forage Cap, Rifle Green, Rank braid, Metal Badge.

Tunic:

ER: Tuxedo, Black with rifle green faces; Waist Coat, rifle green.
WO: Tuxedo, Black with rifles green faces; Waist Coat, rifle green.
OF: Tuxedo, Black with rifle green braiding and black silk faces; Cummerbund, rifle green.

Shirt:

ER: Tuxedo, Black with rifle green faces; Waist Coat, rifle green.
WO: Tuxedo, Black with rifles green faces; Waist Coat, rifle green.
OF: Peak Forage Cap, Rifle Green, Rank braid, Metal Badge.

Trousers:

Official Regimental/State Dinners.
