The Proteans created the Mantels with extreme care and precision. This took months before they felt they were suitable and began the Protean Ascencion.
The first Highmortals that ascended to Protean Godhood were almost chose at random, as they were chosen by what The Proteans believed was a best reflection of The Divine Architecture. This group, they referred to as the First Chosen.
