The God of Death
The growth of life on Earth was enough to attract the first impact of an array fragment, this one being aligned with the cold/ice element. This led to the first extinction event on Earth, and the natural evolution of this fragment to become a Geocarpic Omniscient Particle, something later known as the God of Death.
The God of Death was neutral at first, but after the emergence of Highmortals on Earth and with them self inflection and the concept of murder, it continued to evolve to become more skewed towards evil. The influence of the God of Death was not the source of death, but assumed it's governance which then inherently made it a permanent fixture in the pantheon of Earth.
Death itself is a natural law of morality and not controlled directly by the God of Death, but instead a tool used by the Geocarpic Omniscient Particle to cause more death. This is done through two primary means. New sicknesses, infections, and other health related ailments are the first, and instilling the hunger to kill in Highmortals is the second.
Not all ailments are necessarily created by the God of Death, but most can be traced back to roots that have been confirmed to have traces of the Gods influence.
Things like serial killers, as well as the people the break down in a fit of violence, or people that see the world as something that needs to be proven wrong through a massacre...these are all things that are either directly created by, or at the very least enhanced by the God of Death.
The first god to arrive on Earth 440 million years ago, and the true cause of the Ordovician-silurian Extinction.
