The Sleepwalker, God of Dreams and Visions

(a.k.a. The Dreamwalker, The All Seeing)

The Proteans created many things when the ripple of creation echoed through The Divine Architecture, some intentional and some not. The Proteans were the grand travelers of the infinite art gallery that was The Divine Architecture. They came from what they only referred to as The Nowhere. While this place was quite foreign to The Divine Architecture, it was still well within the material plane. The Proteans were more than capable of planar travel, but they simply were not aware of their existence. It was till much later that the planes were discovered.
Reverberations of the creation that took place during the Protean Cradle, refocused and stretched as they passed from plane to plane. This created many creatures and beasts. The waves of creation became travelers of their own kind, bouncing off of the planes ever warping and changing, collecting the essences of the planes along the way. To this day, small trickles of that energy manage to return home to the material plane.
These little breaths of creation get absorbed by the mortals, and in the early days of the Protean Cradle this led to many issues. As the energies accumulated within the minds of the Highmortals, it started to manifest visions of the the future, the past, as well as in to other planes. Each person varied in susceptibility, but some were so overcome with the visions that it drove them to madness, or they would misinterpret the visions and cause widespread panic. Because of this, The Proteans added an outlet for this energy in all morals, this outlet being dreams.
The Sleepwalker was later created during the Protean Ascendency, and was tasked with making sure that the balance of these energies remained. Also, The Sleepwalker possesses the ability to take in these lost energies at will, and in doing so gain foresight into the future. Using this information, the Sleepwalker then can remove the filter from a chosen Highmortals creating a prophet.
