Decree 583: Binding the Borders

Decree 583 is the official decree of The Law that ended all current trade deals and prevented free passage into and out of The Bound Borders. The Decree was said to have been in response to the rising presence of crime and the "weakening of Versian values".
The Decree states that it is intended to prevent the destruction of the Versian way of life, the corruption of the infallibility of The Law, and the protection of the people within.
The Decree prompted the renaming of the "Versian Nebula" to the "Bound Borders" by entities both inside and out. The Gavels were given far more authority and power within the territory and along the Borders to carry out swift judgement to ensure no ships could penetrate the borders without authorization.

Reception

The Versian Liberation Faction openly opposed the Decree from inside of the Borders while traders, travelers, and even the governments from outside of the Borders did the same. Despite the outcry, the Decree has held to this day.
