FreeST Star-Resistant Short Jump Vessels "Burners"

"Burners" are a short range, intersystem transport vessel created by FreeST based on the standard Heavy Short Jump Vessel design (HSJV) used in high-grav, high-heat explorations. The ships were created for the sole intent of surviving multiple transitions to the Star Forge orbiting the Rhoth star in the Aberteen System and are build directly on the "Port".   They have no long-range capabilities and can handle just enough fuel for specified cargo of specific weight to be safely transported to and from the Port to the Star Forge. They are known for their excessive heat shielding and modified Zip Drives known as "Stutter Drives". The massive jets off the stutter drives try to overcompensate for the lethal gravity by partially slipping into Z-Space repeatedly. While being fully in Sublight or Z-Space would have the ship fully influenced by the gravity well to the point that it would need excessive force and massive fuel costs to escape or be sucked into the sun, the constant "slippage" into Z-Space allows the ship to spend minimal fuel to escape the well. Though there is a skill needed from the Captains to control the ship mid-slip, the engines are unable to fully transition to Z-Space to prevent the ship's engines being torn apart (as they are unequipped for the transition) and the ship being thrown into a random sector of the galaxy.   The unique designs have made the operation of the Star Forge fruitful and has allowed FreeST to become the powerhouse mining corporation of the galactic south.
