Session 1: The Depths of Nibian 6 Report

General Summary

The group landed on Nibian 6. Anna demonstrated that she can scan from her datapad using the Ship's connections.

• George botched his landing role. Minor damage to the landing gears (Ship Aspect: Bent Landing Gears)

They were met by Daron. Frank knew that there were UPens in the medical crate. Daron found the UPens and confronted them as smugglers, but they resolved it peacefully together. He took them to meet the supervisor.

• Established that FreeST policy for smugglers is that only the Supervisor can lift a Ship Detainment Lock.

They met and discussed with the Supervisor. Chris made a good, empathetic impression and Amber made a good impression as someone concerned about the plants and health of the citizens (offered to help). He lifted the ship lock when convinced and allowed them to go about their delivery.
Anna met and used her device on a local woman. She established that she and her husband were transferred from another mining colony and that is uncommon among FreeST unless someone retires or a new outpost opens.
Kyra met the tree girl and took samples of the leaves and soil that the girl had planted. She befriended her.
George, Jason, Dash, and the narcoleptic Walter delivered the Med Supplies to the Doctor. He was irate about the lack of the UPens. He and George argued while Dash tried to be a mediator until George pulled his sidearm and shot by the Doctor when he suggested not paying. The guards (mercs) went to react but Dash immediately tried de-escalation. He pulled and showed his symbol which only Jack, the merc leader, recognized. Jack and Dash deescalated their sides and talked them into doing the mine run for the Doctor for full payment. Dash paid 20 creds to an old miner who found their target and delivered the medicine. The rest convened in the Cantina while Dash returned to the doctor.
Dash interrogated the doctor, took recordings of the doctor and his notes, and shot him in the head post interrogation. As the DRM guards (secretly mercs) approached, the Showdown occurred.
In the Showdown, Jason meleed the Shaft 3 mutants while shouting Sabrina. Dash blew them away, George picked them away, and Teresa found one of Jason's scavenged shotguns, blasted one, and meleed/improved one to death. (Amber/Chris stepped out by this point). George told the DMR he'd give them a ride as they fled to trick them, Dash showed Daron the video, and Jason saved the blonde woman Teresa had met from earlier then informed the guards. One guard was killed by a Shaft 5er but Dash blew it away (2 total).
They reconvened on the ship. George convinced the DRM guards that only Jack and Sonya could ride with him to Nibian 3, the other 4 should take the other ship. Anna fled to her room when she got on board. Dash deceived Jack and held his gun to his head while Sonya had her subnose against Dash's chest. Dash and Jack negotiated so Jack would leave with the datapad but not Sonya on the condition that he give a copy to Daron for FreeST. Jack agreed, they held weapons on Sonya as she hissed threats, then they let Jack shoot her and take the datapad (and Daron with 2 guards). As they left, they saw his energy weapon go off and when they reopened the door Daron was dead and Jack/mercs were gone.
They went back and talked with the supervisor, he paid them, and George saw the message from Saedo.

Missions/Quests Completed

• They stopped the tragedy at Nibian 6 Outpost from getting out of hand and saved the lives of all but a handful of people. The Shaft 3 and Shaft 5 miners were killed post-mutation.
• They know that someone from DMR has experimented on people to create Utopia growth in human bodies, but all active researchers appear to be dead.

The Supervisor was left on good terms with by all for saving his Outpost.
Daron, the half-blind Portmaster, was killed by Jack and his mercenaries after the PCs left. He was shot on the right side (his blindspot as referenced during the game) after leaving the Salters Peppers instead of them handing over the datapad information. There remains one known copy in Jacks possession.
Jack and the Mercs remain at last. One named Jostur has been given passage before by George and is a POC.
Juda Longarc, the 10-12 yr red-haired tree girl, made a connection with Amber. Her dad is sick, her mom worked Mine 6.
There is a random blonde woman that Anna made a good connection with and established rapport by using her device (+1 Use). Her husband died as a mutated Shaft 3 miner but she was rescued from him by Jason who called her Sabrina.
