During the Krasian Meritocracy's assault on the Nibian System, most of the corporate interests residing on and protecting Nibian 3 fled. Having few defenses and no chance of success in combat, Yarael instead flew up to the Krasian Unification forces personally. He confidently led negotiations with the Krasian officer and ended up working out a deal for the continued self-governance of Nibian 3 by the Council of Nibian Traders. Though he had to sever ties to many of his questionably legitimate trade contacts throughout the Rim, at least by Krasian Meritocracy standards of legitimacy, he was able to maintain independant control of Nibian 3 until it's destruction in the black hole that was created in Nibian 6 in 5:7:2353GS.
