The School of Nine

The School of Nine is the academic branch of Arcanix and deals mainly with the education of wizards, mages, and other arcane wielders. The school is lead by The Archwizard of Nine and its office; the current role of the Archwizard is being filled by Lazlu, a tortle who previously held the role of Senator of Illusion and is greatly known for his leadership in the continuing education of young mages.   The School of Nine is housed in two of the towers of Arcanix, Glarehold and Amberwall.   The School of Nine has, as the name implies, nine (9) branches as follows:
  • College of Abjuration
  • College of Conjuration
  • College of Divination
  • College of Enchantment
  • College of Evocation
  • College of Illusion
  • College of Necromancy
  • College of Transmutation
  • College of the Weave
The first eight (8) colleges specialize in a particular school of magic, but the ninth college has no one specific specialty. Every student starts in the College of the Weave to begin their general studies into the arcane. After two years, a student can choose a school in which to specialize or they can choose to stay in the College of the Weave. Those that choose to stay in the College of the Weave usually do so to stay more rounded or to study schools of magic that have not been set into its own college (ie. Chronurgy & Graviturgy). In total, students usually spend six (6) years studying before being awarded an Arcanix Diploma, however students can remain for longer to specialize in multiple schools of magic, but this usually adds between two to four (2-4) more years to their educational track.   Each college has a head with the title of Senator with each Senator working in The Educational Senate and while each Senator has a specialty of magic, they each are powerful and well rounded mages in their own right.
