House of Beothar, Who Weighs All

Description

Outer

A wood structure that appears two stories, with an outer balcony wrapping around the outside of the second floor, populated with tables and chairs. Out of the roof springs a large, stone statue of Beothar, depicted as a fountain of snake heads, each with a gold-painted coin in their mouths.

Inside

The inside is a two-story trading hall, with an inner balcony wrapped around the outside. Spiral stairs lead between floors. The first floor is covered with makeshift stalls while the upper floor is where people do protracted business.   Around the base of the statue is a pool of water where offerings are made and priests (wading in the fountain) witness contracts that are then placed in pigeon holes in the statue for safe keeping.
