Temple of Coins & Roads

Description

Outer

A building of threated marble, shaped like a cross with doors thrown open at each point. Around the outer building of the walls are a series of pots of various side. Most have broken down. Several holes in the roof can be see.

Pots

The pots are there to store the prayers of travelers and their loved ones. A small bit of food is placed in the pot along with a sheet of lead with the prayer carved into them. Most of the pots have been there for decades are new ones are rarely added.

Inner

Off each of the arms of the cross are smaller rooms but their doors have been ripped off the hinges or simply fallen off due to hinge decay. The insides are empty.   Most of the ceiling bares holes and the floors have puddles of pooled water, home to buzzing insects.

Crossing

In the center of the building is a large, marble statue of a maiden with multiple arms and grinning mouths down her neck. The arms are raised towards a hole in the ceiling, as if they're seeking the sun, and each is covered with a course clothe. Her eyes, breasts, hips, and feet are huge, making her appear squat. She was painted but now the weather has lefted her streaked with colors that are slowly fading.   At her dais is a large, dry pool, covered in brass coins.
