Silkships
Beneath the waves of the sea glide the Silkships. Huge enclosed vessels with shimmering sails of Whalespider Silk that soar at great speeds on the natural highways made by deep currents.
In the current timeline Silkships are a common if expensive mode of travel throught the seas. Considerd safer than over water travel almost three times as fast, they have allowed Hull and it's allies to traverse the waters around Erryt with freedom from piracy and danger.
Almost all the Silkships are manufactured in Hull in the inner harbor near Stardhem. The Merchant guild keeps very close tabs on their construction and when independant Silkship manufacturers are discovered they are quickly destroyed.
The social impact of the silk ship has been one of opening up the known world to travel and diplomacy. Unlike the dangers of operating overland vehicles the Silkships once created need only to be operated and don't require much expensive upkeep. This has led to a spread of Species and cultures throughout Erryt, especially in countries allied with Hull and the Merchant Guilds.

The Pentagramma Collective maintains a small incredibly secret fleet of Silkships as well that have been modified for piracy but they only operate within the border of the Collective's aquatic territory, and if Hull knows about them they haven't said or done anything.

Propulsion
The Silkships are powered by magic sails that catch ocean currents and propel the ship at great speeds through the water. A wizard or druid are needed to control the ship in this way. They attune themselves to the sail with a simple ritual and then can control how it interacts with the water.
Weapons & Armament
Most Silk Ships are unarmed, there are special smaller Silk craft that act as scouts and fighters that sometimes accompany them however. Beyond that Silkships are often captained by a spellcaster who uses the Ship's bridge to control the ship and cast spells through it.
Sensors
The most impressive part of the silk ships sensory array are the windows of the bridge area which act as a proxy for the outside of the whole ship, giving those on the bridge the illusion of being surrounded by the water and thus able to see clearly in all directions. This is a magical scrying effect with a DC equal to the captains Class DC for the purposes of spells and effects that block scrying.
