Bressians

Bressians are the people from the kingdom of Bressa.   They are loosely related to the Sea Folk, with the Sea Folk believed to originally have emigrated to Autara from Bressia many generations ago.   Many Bressians lived in urban towns, mostly port cities along the coast, with many artisans and merchants living and working in them. There are also small towns, often small farming or fishing villages located in the countryside, but most people have moved to or have at least some connection to the larger urban settlements.   Bressian architecture tends to be made of stone masonwork with stucco-covered walls and shingled or thatched roofs, with most houses only being one story, especially in the countryside, and often having an outside courtyard. In cities, buildings and houses tend to be bigger, with multiple stories and more elaborate architecture.   Bressian clothing tends to be lighter with looser and more flowing cuts allowing the wearer to stay cool. They can get away with this due to the warmer climate in Bressa. They tend to wear short shoes or sandals, with those in the country mostly wearing work boots.

Relationship with Magic

Bressians are similar to Autara when it comes to their approach to magic and the people that use that. Most of the Bressian population has little magical ability and average core strength, it is still somewhat rare for one to develop their core beyond the ability to power simple magic items.   Contrary to Autara, rather than their magic users being trained by apprentices Bressia has a system of schools that were created to train and teach young magic users who have often already started to develop their magical talent.

Ethnic Phenotypes

Bressians tend to have dark brown to light brown skin with dark brown or black curly hair and dark eyes being common. Traits like blue eyes or red hair are also possible but are extremely rare due to the previously mentioned traits being genetically dominant in the region. They share many traits with the Sea Folk, and this is part of the reason people think the two people groups are related.   In the bigger coastal towns, there is a wider variety of ethnic diversity and thus a wider diversity in physical appearance.
