Cat Nimm
Cat Nimms are cat-like alchemical creations (called Nimms) made via Magic. They are physically identical to natural cats apart from having glowing eyes. Nimms have human-like intelligence and can speak, read, and write as well as they can with paws. They also have some magical abilities although they are rarely very strong.
Appearance & Behavior
The material used in the spell to make a Nimm has some effect on the Nimm’s appearance and personality, for example, if a Nimm is made out of a patterned fabric doll the Nimm will have mottled fur and a soft and flexible personality. In contrast, if a Nimm is made out of a gray stone statue the Nimm will have gray fur and a tough and stubborn personality. Some magic users put great effort into how they want their Nimm to look and make prettily patterned statutes to be made into a beautiful Nimm, on the other hand, others simply make them out of whatever is around without much thought of what the Nimm will look like.Creation & Work
They, as mentioned earlier, are made by magical means. They are made by casting a complicated magic spell on something that has been shaped like a cat. The result is a sentient, living being made through magic. Cat Nimms may also have some magical ability, but it is mostly simple stuff that allows them to speak and remain living and working without their body deteriorating. They are made for a variety of reasons, but they are most commonly used as messengers, scouts, assistants, and the like. Once their initial purpose is over they may stick around and work for their summoner or they may leave and find employment elsewhere. To make a Nimm one must have a developed core as well as knowledge of the complex spell to do so, making it quite time-consuming to create one for one specific job as such, there are businesses that make use of Nimms’ skills and hire them out for work similar to what they were made to do. It is more common nowadays for people to simply hire an already existing Nimm than to make a new one.
