Haldans Berries

Haldans Berries is an edible fruit that grows on Haldans bushes, a berry-producing bush that is native to the colder north and is commonly found in the Hill Lands  as well as some of the Farmlands.
The Berries are edible and are often used to make jams and preserves as well as in desserts or other food items. They also may be used in drinks and are often made into a hot tea which is commonly consumed in the Hill Lands.
Due to their usefulness as a food item many households, especially in the hill lands, have a group of Haldans bushes on their land from which they can gather their own supply of berries.

Appearance & Behavior

The plant that the berries grow from has a strong hardy vinelike stem, that grows in tangles or vines called brambles or thickets and likes to grow up trellises or up the sides of trees. The plant has small spiny leaves, that grow in fern-like patterns along the stems of the plant, and are evergreen meaning they don't lose their leaves in the winter.
The plant is frost resistant and can withstand a good amount of cold weather and temperatures, and can survive through the winter even though they do go into a state of hibernation pausing their growth until spring.
In the spring, the plant grows small yellow flowers that eventually turn into the berries that the plant is known for. The berries are small round and red, with a strong sweet flavor and lots of excess juice.
