Great Eagles of the Sky
When you look up into the sky at night, there's a good chance you'll see one of 10 nebula's of the Eagle Gods or very bright stars. These are the physical representations of the gods. The primary god among them is Hyrcanus. These gods are rumoured to be influencing the way that life goes, unseen.
Mythology & Lore
It all started with a Titan, called Altegr. He had a birdcage, a massive birdcage. In it, he kept 3 Great Eagles. Pratae, a male. Hlesi, also a male, and Aladhar, a female. Hlesi and Pratae fought over Aladhar to mate. Their fight destroyed the cage, crushing the Titan under it. The cage's magical powers unleashed and broke the eagles free. However, Hlesi was torn in into time. Pratae became the embodiment of matter and Aladhar was released, unscathed. She layed her eggs al over the sky and Pratae brought life to them. Some became bright, some sheltered life and others hatched. Aladhar and Pratae had several children, one of them was Hyrcanus, The Great One. He is the Eagle God of Honor and Glory. He in turn had a number of children with Tanenar, godess of Love and Seas, who was also his sister.
Cosmological Views
The mythos explains that all the stars are eggs from Pratae, god of matter, and Aladhar that began to shine after Pratae brought life to them. Some have interpreted this as 'The Stars are alive'. Some of the eggs that Aladhar layed, hatched. They did so in a lot of force and power, that they became gods and godesses. Their embodiment are shown are bright nebulas, most of wich are shaped as eagles. And then, there were eggs that also sheltered life. So, in the eyes of Vadatonian beliefs, they are not the only ones out there.
Tenets of Faith
The Gods have no one to speak to, but they do to everyone. There is no religious head to spread their words, but still they guide life of the everyday human. The religion does not dictate how life should go, but holds the hand of every single believer. All that do, have one common saying. "Life a good life." Most understand this premise. Be good to others, and they will be good to you. Help those in need, and they might reward you. This is what keeps most people in line. Even though war can be ongoing, it is important to be good to others and in the eyes of the Eagle Gods.
Ethics
In Vadaton, when you ask how to live by the gods' way, they will say: "Live a good life. Help those in need and love those next to you."
When you engage in conversation with someone, it's common courtesy to shake their hand in the Vadatonian way (hands on each others elbow, so their forearms are alligned), or give them a kiss on their cheek. The shake is a form of respect and honor, this is to honor the presence of Hyrcanus during your conversation. The kiss signifies a presence from Tanenar and is viewed by some as a request for a good and caring conversation.
Worship
Everyone can do this as they please, when they please. There are no regulations of when or how you must do this. The religion is all about finding out life for one self, that includes everything from worship to everyday life.
Priesthood
Unlike many religions, this one has no spokesperson. It is forbidden to spread the word of the gods. They are eternal and ever present. Their means may be interpreted by anyone.
