Kinfolk

Kinfolk, sometimes called Gallain or just Kin, are those Humans and wild animals who are related to the Fera and are not prone to the Delirium, but who are not actual shapeshifters themselves.   Despite being far better able to interact with their breed (species) than Fera of the same breed, neither human or animal kinfolk belong purely to their respective species. Human kinfolk generally had a bit more spirituality and connection to nature, being slightly of the beast, than did the masses of humanity. Animal kinfolk had more cognizance than their non-Kin fellows and thus had a bit of human in them, separating them from other animals to a degree.   Kinfolk are related by varying degrees to the Fera by blood, but do not possess the spiritual component necessary to undergo the First Change. They are divided into two breeds, human or animal. No kinfolk possess Rage, nor are they blessed by Luna or Helios with an Auspice.   This lack of favor also means that they're immune to the effects that silver or gold has on their true breed kin. Gaia does favor kinfolk above normal humans (and animals), thus a very small minority of kinfolk may possess small degrees of Gnosis. A very rare kin learned rudimentary Gifts. More accepting sub-cultures of Fera, such as the Garou's Children of Gaia, are exceptional to the rest of the Fera for their general endorsement of their kinfolk learning healing and social gifts.

Relations

Different Changing Breeds will have different cultural approaches to how their kinfolk are treated and the role they are given in their respective societies. But generally there are two classifications:
  • Kenning: those who are as aware of the greater supernatural world and have a role within their respective Fera's culture and fight for Gaia. These roles can range anywhere from being equals in their Fera society, holding places of honour and respect, to being seen as little more than servants who serve at the will of those who have had their First Change.
  •
  • Callow: those who for various reasons are entirely ignorant to both their blood ties to the Fera and the greater supernatural world.
  • Encompassed species
