Session 0: The Cursed Noble

General Summary

Taverns have been rife with talk of panicked clerics unable to resurrect the dead, and of those that have been raised from death withering, reclaimed by the fate from which they were rescued. What's more, travellers from as far as Luskan and the sword coast have brought tales of this mysterious "Death Curse." It seems as if it's affecting the whole world, and people are rightly concerned.   You find yourself in the great port city of Waterdeep, for your own reasons and pursuing your own devices. Perhaps seeking an end to the death curse, perhaps not. In either case, you hear of a well-known retired Waterdhavian noble and adventurer, Sindra Sylvane, seeking adventurers and mercenaries to root out and eradicate the source of this curse. The whispers you've heard and the flyers posted over guild notice boards in town mention travel to the peninsula of Chult.   Chult is a dense and savage jungle, thick with biting insects, disease, savage beasts, a broken army of undead, and all manner of ways to find an unpleasant death. However - beyond the promise of gold - there lay lost cities, mysteries, uncontacted cultures, and hopefully, an ending to the Death Curse and all the glory and fame that come with it.   You applied at the relevant office, have been forced into service, or through connections or guile weaseled your way into being accepted into this adventuring party, and have received an invitation to Lady Sylvane's manor house. Either together or alone, you make your way there for the meeting, and to see what your future holds...
