To Save a Pickpocket

Malec, a young pickpocket, has been caught by the guards while trying to steal from you. He was summarily sent to Executioner’s Run. Amaxh (the guard captain at the Grand Souk) would not be swayed by protestations from the party.
The day came, and young Malec ran through the pits, dodging hungry raptors. Despite his limber maneuvering, he was pounced upon and ripped apart in front of his close friends and neighbours, with no-one to save him.
It turns out, the young boy was the nephew of Azaka Stormfang, your very-nearly-erstwhile guide. After Douglass the Archaeologist blurted out his name, Azaka figured out that the party was responsible for his death. However close you were to having her quit on you, Azaka's pride as a guide, and some smooth talking and ownership of responsibility from Chomsky prevented her from leaving as you walked out of Port Nyanzaru.
