Ridgebess
Ridgebess is a large winter island, with several towns and cities dotting it's mountainous environment. It is covered in several high peaks, that lead to the bottom of Bubbleland above. There are several towns across the mountains of Ridgebess. Most notably, Baribess, the capital. One can traverse across the high mountain peaks, but the rivers here flow backwards, like in Reverse Mountain. With these rivers, one can take a path directly up to Baribess.
History
Ridgebess, as an island, has been a strong member of the World Government since the beginning. Before that, it was a member of the Drifters, one that was obsessed with the practice of magic. So much so, "The Oracles of Ridgebess" worked together and changed primal and divine magic, to create occult and arcane magic. This continues to this day, with many important people being able to use magic.
Baribess
Baribess is the capital of Ridgebess, and is where both the Ridgebess Contest is being held, and where the Palace of Bess is. It is styled after a modern snowy American mountain town, with sprawled out and fairly distant buildings. This whole sprawled out city leads to the Palace of Bess, which sits on the Ridge Peak. Towards the Palace, but not quite out of the city lies the large Shifting Arena. The arena is typically used for small contests of prisoners, and looks like a Olympic Arena. The large central "arena" can be changed into several different magical configurations.
Slums
The slums of Baribess take up half of the city. They are cut off from the rest of the island.
Palace of Bess
The Palace of Bess is an amazingly large, wonderous, and beautiful castle, built of cold dark stone, with a Victorian style to it's architecture.
Ridge Peak
Ridge Peak is the highest mountain peak on the island of Ridgebess. To get to this peak, one has to go through the Palace of Bess, then through the growing hedge maze. At the peak is the bottom of Bubbleland.
The Shifting Arena
The Shifting Arena is where the Ridgebess contest takes place every ten years. Additionally, gladiatorial fights involving prisoners happen here once a month. The arena can shift between five configurations, with only three of them being used each contest.
