The Proving Grounds
The Proving Grounds are a realm that is slightly disconnected from the others. Similar to the Soul Expanse, it is a battleground for spirits. While typically those spirits are dead, some are only visiting spirits, those of monks or even the Warriors of the Endless Battle, clergy of Karsos, God of War.
The Proving Ground is an eternal battleground where those spirits who were found worthy in life fight in death to become more powerful beings than they were previously. Aspiring spirits may win the chance to become such creatures as deva, planetars or even solar. Some of these spirits simply stay here for eternity, never dropping out of favor but never advancing the ranks to a higher being. Some of these spirits can even be called upon by divine casters for aid in battle.
Geography
A rocky crag extends to the far reachest of this realm, surrounded on all sides by a raging sandstorm that seems to confuse and trick the wanderer into accidentally returning back from where they attempted to leave. Dusty sand kicks up from under the feet of various warrior spirits of old as they fight each other, and the air lingers with a dryness to the throat. Blood splatters adorn the uneven stones, though the sand covers these over time, paving way for more blood to spill in the endless battle.
