A healthy Drow, Hatham has been seen with a cane or staff, however it is unclear if he needs it or uses it as a decoration.

Personal history
Born in 1000 EOS, High Lord Hatham was poised to become Open Lord of Waterdeep when circumstances pushed him into becoming High Lord. In 1098, at just under 100 years old, Hatham took the throne after his father died of Dragon Pox. Since taking the throne, Hatham has ventured to maintain basic upkeep of his territory, however he leaves administration and bureaucracy to his vassal lords. Because of this, Waterdeep has turned into a nest for crime, and is considered almost an independent sovereign city. Hatham instead focus' his time on other projects of an unknown nature. Rumors fly that he's secretly doing anything from running a sex cult to necromancy. In the last 100 years or so of his reign, he has been largely unseen outside of normal High Lord functions such as balls, parties, state meetings, high lord councils, and other government affairs. Recently, the High Lord has been known to enter questionable deals with other lords in order to make major profits, but no evidence or scandal in that regard has been uncovered
High Lord Hatham was also involved in the Waterdeep scandal of 1152 EOS. While he doesn't pay much attention to the city of Waterdeep, High Lord Hatham is rumored to be deeply involved in dealings (legal or otherwise) that go on throughout the city. This rumor seems to be credible, judging from the events of the scandal involving the Lords of Waterdeep, High Lord Hatham, multiple nobles in Hatham's court, and a 500,000 Emerald Mark treasure hidden somewhere in the depths of Waterdeep. By the end of the scandal, House Hatham was scandalized and embarrassed, but not ruined.
