Ellina Ridell Crimea
Princess Ellina Ridell Crimea
A young traveler from Tellius on a journey to resurrect her lover.
No matter the cost, I will bring him back
Physical Description
Body Features
Ellina is a human of Crimean descent. She stands at five feet and one inch, though she insists she hasn't stopped growing. Her long ashen hair runs to her lower back and her green eyes carry a unique calmness. She has a lean and fit physique that lends more to durability than agility.
Since inheriting the soul of Orpheus Dawnblade, Ellina has experienced certain physical changes. Her ashen hair has faint black tips, resulting in her frequently braiding her hair to conceal them, and the calm green of her eyes have errily darkened.
However, the most prominent change are the three, faint, claw-like scars that run over her nasal bridge.
However, the most prominent change are the three, faint, claw-like scars that run over her nasal bridge.
Physical quirks
After accepting Orpheus' soul she finds it more natural to bow than to curtsy and she is ambidextrous. She also finds that any weapon other than her spear feels unnatural and unbalanced.
Apparel & Accessories
Despite her noble upbringing, Ellina prefers to wear clerical or civilian clothing, citing that they're much more functional and practical. She doesn't wear any jewelry or other accessories. However, her friendship with Elisa has encouraged her to try new things, one of which includes wearing sundresses.
To aid her in traveling incognito she wears a hood and cloak woven from shadow-like material, and frequently uses their magical shadows to obscure her face and body. In combat Ellina typically dons a full set of heavy or plate armor with a shield.
Specialized Equipment
Cursed Spear of the Branded
This is the only thing left of the creature that killed Orpheus, and it serves as a reminder of his death. Recently I've learned Orpheus' soul uses the spear as a conduit to bind to my body.
This item bares the Curse of the Branded; however, the Goddess Ashunera has blessed this item, countering the damaging aspects of the curse. Falling prey to evil will cause the curse to return and dispel the blessing.Curse of the Branded

When you use Crimson Rite on this weapon, ranged attacks do not remove the active rite effect. Under normal circumstances the spear cannot be recalled while transformed.

Personal history
Ellina Ridell Crimea was born on the sixth day of the fourth month in 1166. As the only child of Ellincia and Geoffrey Crimea, she is the sole heir to the Crimean throne. In her early years Ellina accompanied her parents on their visits to neighboring countries and was exposed to a variety of cultures. Her father would often tell her, "there's not one correct way to live, but seeking and spreading happiness is an honorable way to live."
She was initially enrolled in the Crimean Royal Academy to become a scholar, but during her teenage years she joined the Crimean Paladin Academy alongside her childhood friends Orpheus Dawnblade and Urvan. At the age of twenty Ellina completed her paladin training and co-founded The Dawn, with Orpheus as the leader and her and Urvan as the captains. Her mentor Nepheene and friend Amy would later also join as captains.
Ellina's travels with The Dawn brought her to every corner of Tellius and eventually the group made their way to desert continent Hatari. There they faced a foe that overwhelmed them, and although it was defeated, Orpheus lost his life. Through the assistance of two Gods, Orpheus' soul was brought back and anchored to Ellina's body. Since entering the soul bond, Ellina has lost the ability to use magic, including the use of most magical items. Now she travels in search for a way to revive Orpheus.
Education
Ellina spent her early days under the tutelage of her mother and father. She was taught history, diplomacy, philosophy, and the basics of politics and economics. In her teenage years she found more success with sword and the arcane arts than in books, and began training to become a paladin.
Completed training at the Crimean Paladin Academy
Took the Oath of Redemption
Fully trained Blood Hunter (Order of the Lycan)
Accomplishments & Achievements
She has quelled multiple violent rebellions and strengthened relations between Beorc (Humans) and Laguz (Shifters) all throughout Tellius.
She played a part in the Queen Alicia's succession of the Lamorian throne, laying the foundation for a more peaceful nation, and, hopefully, and early end to the ongoing war. The result has strengthened Ellina's confidence in that despite her current constitution, she is able to aid others and build foundations for peace.
Failures & Embarrassments
Despite her parents mastering mounted combat, Ellina has an extreme dislike for riding horses and other beasts that have not been summoned by her. However, through continued exposure she has become more comfortable riding, provided that she does not hold the reins.
The massacre of Tanus
The destruction of the towns, Talrega and Elipis.
The Moonlit Massacres
The pattern continues as of last night's full moon with the destruction of the prosperous hunter's town, Elipis. First respondents have reported signs of claw markings, but urge the public not to jump to conclusions, as the claws seem to be enchanted with fire magic. A trait that no known Laguz possess. The estimated total dead to this attack and the previous two Moonlit Massacres totals to 243 innocent souls.
Mental Trauma
With the burden of two souls inhabiting her body, she has difficulties maintaining her own individuality. During the weeks leading up to a full moon the feelings of rage, frustration and bloodlust slowly overwhelm her. On the day of the full moon, Orpheus forces the transformation on Ellina, leaving her in a comatose state until the moon sets. She often has no recollection of the previous day. Through experience Ellina has learned her emotional changes feel extremely normal and can easily go unnoticed by her. She has a journal that keeps track of the personality bleeds.
When the anger, frustration, and bloodlust come there is no buffer. The emotions don't brew, they pour out in explosive impulses. It's frightening in all honesty. The hostilities simply wash over me, and they don't feel foreign. It feels like my anger, my frustration, my bloodlust.
Morality & Philosophy
Ellina's dislike for violence and her Oath of Redemption have led her to practice pacifism. In the past, Ellina always offered a chance for repentance and redemption; however, after soul bonding with Orpheus her pacifist philosophy has been greatly challenged with his constant thirst for destruction.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
The purpose of Ellina's journey is to find a way to bring Orpheus back to life and restore themselves to their former selves. She travels with the Sworn Seven in the hopes their accomplishments will bring forth a boon from her Goddess, but she reminds herself that helping people and spreading happiness are rewards of their own.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Savvies: With her particular arsenal, Ellina is a deceptively mobile combatant, and alongside Orpheus, she's constantly analyzing the battlefield and strategizing.
Ineptitudes: Ellina still struggles to come to terms with her current constitution. Her inability to use magic is a constant sore spot.
Likes & Dislikes
Likes: Ellina enjoys reading, tea and incense processing, nature, the feeling of the sun, helping people, telling stories.
Loves: Orpheus Dawnblade
Dislikes: Arrogant attitudes, reliance on titles, ghosts, being carried in the open air, violence, horseback riding, mounted combat
Virtues & Personality perks
With The Dawn she spoke as a mediator between Orpheus and the others, and was seen as a voice of reason and rationale. With the Sworn Seven Ellina finds herself the quickest to anger of the group.
Social
Mannerisms
Throughout her noble upbringing Ellina was instructed to speak in a polite and reserved manner. Throughout her adventures across Tellius she has developed the knack of modifying her cadence and mannerisms to suit a more commoner style of speak. She still speaks politely, but in a blunt manner.
Because her connection with Orpheus allows them to seamlessly communicate without speech, she often forgets others cannot do the same. Frequently while explaining things Orpheus will interject with the omitted details.
Ellina has a habit of leaning her head to the right when listening to Orpheus. She's been told that while the movement is not off putting, it often gives the impression that she's questioning something that was said, or she's uninterested.
