Emizaad

"The white walls rise from the sands in front of them, and behind them, the city reaches for the clouds. They see greenery peeking from between the buildings, and it's almost like a vision from another world in the midst of the dry desert. It's easy to imagine that, if not for the smell of rotting flesh in the air, and for the carrions birds circling in the sky, their songs mixing with the clinging, clanging, chatter, and other voices coming from the war camp, they would see lively bustling around the city.

- The arrival of four adventurers to Emizaad in 15:20 of Agerian calendar

Emizaad is the capital of Kiweda, and the home to the ruling Ozrav family. The commerce in there is thriving, making it, and consequently Ozravs, among the richest in all of Ager. It's known especially for its gemstones that are mined in many locations throughout Kiweda, but also for its variety of fruits and colourful textiles.

Demographics

While mostly human, the presence of nobility means there are also elves and those of elven heritage in Emizaad. There are also some centaurs, though mostly prefer the desert sands outside the walls, and some odd individuals from other races, as well. The majority of people in the region live in the city due to its bountiful water resources, and as a result, the city itself is relatively crowded while other settlements in Kiweda are few and far between and mostly rather small.
The divide in wealth is apparent in Emizaad, as its riches bring wealth to the already wealthy, while the poor are generally left to fend for themselves: unlike in Wenindore, in Emizaad the poor and homeless are allowed to exist, as long as they cause no trouble. Majority of the population can afford a roof atop their heads, however, if not by other means then by doing odd jobs as messengers, cleaners, or by doing other menial work that most would rather avoid.
There is also some slavery, the ruling family of Kiweda not shying away from such practices. They can be seen in the streets on occation, but are usually difficult or impossible to tell apart from the regular folk, as the state of one's slave is seen as a reflection of their owner's own state of affairs: well-dressed slave means a person can afford to look after their belonings, while a slave dressed in rags is often seen as proof that their owner is managing their business rather poorly.

Government

Emizaad is part of the kingdom of Ager, and is ruled by the Ozrav family, who in turn are loyal to the ruler of the nation. Under the family's command are the Sun Guard and the Lion Guard, former working primarily outside the palace grounds and the latter within, being responsible for the safety of the noble family and their guests.
The merchants' guild, Sandcoin, has its headquarters in Emizaad, and are in the good graces of Ozrav's, giving them some power in matters of commerce and taxes.

Districts

Weavers' District, located near the market square, is a home to many weaveries and the people that work in them.
