Myth: The Shadows of the Gods

There are many theories regarding the parentage of Smith's son, Kal'han: his father was a representative of Smith; Kal'han may have been one of Smith's creations; Smith simply adopted an orphaned mortal, and her presense granted him immortality.   One thing that is agreed on both by the religious and the historians is that Kal'han loved to create, same as his mother, and his curiosity was bottomless. Before long, however, the gods began to see his creations as an insult and a danger to Peoples, and so they demanded he stop. This suggestion angered Kal'han, and he withdrew for a long time to plan on how to draw the gods' attention elsewhere while he could continue creating.   First, he asked his mother to make him a dagger that could cut anything, telling her that he had found a jewel that was stuck on the hardest of rocks. After this, he asked Lanternkeeper to bless the weapon so that any soul that fell by it could not return to its body and roam the land as a being between life and death. He then disguised himself as one of Emperor's servants and persuaded the god to arrange a celebration in honor of the peace they had had for so long. Before long, Emperor agreed and invited all the other gods and many of their followers, as well as spirits and creatures. Only Priest did not arrive, staying behind to hear the prayers of Peoples and to provide them with his presence.   As the heavy food and everflowing drink finally made all fall asleep, Kal'han visited each god, cutting off their shadows and telling them to drink deep from Hunter's Pool to gain their own will and purpose. The shadows listened and did as he bade. Thus each shadow of the gods gained their own soul and form, and nothing could tie them back to their original owners, thanks to Lanternkeeper's blessing.
