The Kayin are the terrifying outcome of an ancient magical experiment on Humans that led to the creation of an almost unstoppable race of supersoldiers.

Basic Information

Genetics and Reproduction

Kayin reproduce identically to baseline Humans, but are known to be signifcantly less fertile and have reduce libidos, causing their populations to increase at a much slower rate than Humans.

Growth Rate & Stages

Kayin develop at a rapid pace, fully maturing to adulthood by the age of 10, and reached an old age by 40. This means that the Kayin are able to more efficiently fill the empty ranks in their adult workforce but are ultimately incapable of easily expanding their population.

Ecology and Habitats

Kayin are an incredibly versatile race, capable of surviving in some of the most extreme environments of their homeworld and are one of the few races capable of pursuing Dragons to their usually innacessible fallback positions.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Kayin have an almost identicaly diet to Humans but have a much more versatile digestion system, and can consume raw or dangerous foods without the same amount of risk as their baseline counterparts.

Behaviour

Kayin have a very similar baseline psychology to Humans but have heightened fight or flight responses and aggression, making them generally more hostile and prone to instinctual reactions. This also leads to them being much more solitary, keeping their environments and lives much more controlled and safe compared to other circumstances.

Kayin have a similar level of intelligence to Humans but because of their shorter lifespans they are unable to spend the same amount of time learning and studying before they pass.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The Kayin have terrifyingly heightened senses, capable of detecting even the slightest sound in a noisy city and see with perfect clarity in some of the darkest environments. Because of this, the Kayin have some of the best senses known amongst all of the sentient races.

Resilient: If the Kayin Warrior has to take more than 12 damage to drop to 0hp, it drops to 1hp instead. This recharges after a long rest.
Undying: If the Kayin Warrior dies from combat, it revives in 2d6 hours, and suffers -3 to all stats for 3d6 days.

Kayin Warriors are the elite combat experts of the Kayin. An intimidating sight, a Kayin Warrior is capable of taking on a group of soldiers and coming out only slightly injured.
