Goblins
Goblins are small creatures, typically 3 to 4 foot in height and weighing between 40 and 80 pounds. Their skin is usually a shade of green, although this can vary greatly, and brown and grey tones have also been seen amongst Goblin-kind. Large, pointed ears and noses are a persistent feature of most Goblins, and many can grow hair in all sorts of colours. Male Goblins, however, tend to lose their hair early in life, whereas females keep there's well in to old-age. Smaller and sneakier than other races, Goblins tend to have slimmer forms, although over-indulgence can lead to Goblins with weight issues.
Being a race known for their numbers, Goblins only have short lives, with the average expected life being around 40 or 50 years. It has been known for Goblins to live up to 60 years. A Goblin will reach maturity faster than other races, and will be considered fully formed adults at around their 8th year of life. It is debated that this short lifecycle is a result of the rugged territories that the Goblins are theorised as coming from - The Orcish Tribelands. With nearly every creature in such a rugged place including Goblins in their diets, Goblins may have evolved to counter their high mortality rates with a quicker rate of maturing. This coincides with their fertility rates, and Goblin females will often give birth to multiple children in one pregnancy.
All Goblins have a degree of night vision that allows them to see in the dark, and their small, agile forms allow them to disappear and hide from sight far easier than others might do. Their short statue also seems to have caused a natural instinct, and Goblins are often bought to a degree of anger when called out on how short they are; something they use to great effect when fighting against anything bigger!
The Goblins of the present, being so varied in their nature, have hundreds of stories of the origins of the Goblins. The most prominent, however, relates to the The Great Tribe - The Greenskin Religion. It is said that when the prime-God Gruumsh awoke, he created all the other Greenskin Gods and all of the Greenskins themselves. In this moment, one of the other Gods, Shargraas, sneezed three times. These sneezes startled Gruumsh briefly after he woke up, and was enough to shrink some of the Greenskins that were made which resulted in the Goblins.
