Infusion
The Art of Addition
Infusion is the process in which a mage pours magical energy into an object. This object will then take on some of the energy's attributes. Not all objects are infused equally, there are differences in how well they retain the magical energy, and how receptive they are to receiving magical attributes. Not all energy can be used for infusion equally. The use of incompatible energy to infuse an object might have a variety of negative impacts on the infused material.Energy Use
All infusions are temporary, each use will spend some of the energy that was put into it until it is empty, some passively use this energy, and thus the infusion becomes weaker over time until it is gone, others only use energy when it is actually applied to something and they will stay usable until all energy is used up.Leakage
Most materials will leak energy, and they will slowly de-power over time even if they aren't used. There are a few materials that are capable of retaining energy indefinitely.Materials
Metals are mediocre for infusion, and they will leak relatively quickly, and therefore they aren't used for long-term infusions. Any silicon based material is already better for infusion, although the purer the silicon the slower the object will leak energy. Even pure silicon will still leak tho, and the only way to create perfect vessels for magical energy is with the use of crystals, these don't have to be synthetic crystals, and they don't have to be pure silicon, as long as they are properly cut, they will hold in the energy.Effects of Infusion
Consumptioninfusing with consumption allows for the infused object to use the stored energy to create flames. Since this uses magical energy, it will need to be replenished after a short while. Healing
Infusing with healing can repair objects, and it can be used to easily cast healing when in contact with the sick or injured, this is not as powerful as a real mage, but healing infused objects are still highly coveted, especially by armies. Protection
Infusing with protection uses the stored energy to protect the infused onject, preventing it from being damaged or broken in any way, until the energy is depleted. Transportation
Infusing with transportation uses the energy to teleport the infused object to an unknown location. Divination
Infusing with divination makes the object visible through walls, and visible for a range relative to how much energy was used to infuse it, causing it to appear as a bright light, despite not being in visible range. Deconstruction
Infusing with deconstruction causes the infused object to be deconstructed for as much energy as was used to infuse it. Construction
Infusing with construction causes the infused object to fuse to whatever it touches, the degree of fusion depends on the amount of input energy. Strengthening
Infusing with strength causes an object to become heavier, relative to the amount of energy that was put into it. Erosion
Infusing with erosion will simply cause the infused object to start eroding iteself. Annihilation
Infusing with annihilation will cause the infused object to cause whatever it touches to disintegrate. Transmutate
Infusing with transmutation will cause whatever touches the infused object to mutate in unpredictable ways. Evisceration
Infusing with evisceration causes the infused object to be eviscerated.
It is recommended to read about all the magical energies first, for the sake of context.
