Island Elves

The Islanders

A long time ago, before the great nations of the world existed, even before the first kingdoms had been born, the elves took to the sea, and over rivers, and across the sea, they found a new world, a green place, covered in grass. It is these elves that are the ancestors of all the island elves, or as they call themselves, the high elves. It was on this island where the first horses were discovered, a noble creature which, when domesticated, forever changes the course of not only these elves, but also the rest of the world. As time went on they spread to the nearby islands, taking their horses, and their ships with them, and they would be the world's masters of both.

Physical Appearance

The island elves are distinctly fair-skinned when compared to all of their kin, as well as giving exclusively light hair colors, such as light blond and platinum, which are most common among them. Their bright eyes come in a variety of colors, such as blue, green, orange, yellow, and grey. They have long angular features, with high cheekbones.

Homeland

Their two main islands both feature vast plains, with rolling hills, and blue rivers, the perfect landscape for these sea-faring horse lords. in addition to this they have a number of smaller islands, most notable of which is Asanmye, the volcanic island in between Trianmye and Quianmye, their two biggest landmasses. The minor islands, located west of the latter, are largely rocky, with forest growth covering them. The people here have a distinct subculture characterized by their communities and focus more and fishing than on horse riding. Being an island people, naturally, fishing is a common profession among them, along with horse ranching, especially in the west, and the white sea, where fish is most abundant.   Besides horses and fish, the Iland elves also have a number of forests, the most notable of which is on the interior of Trianmye, here people live differently, this is a region strange to the average islander, and therefore feared, and shrouded in mystery.

Cuisine

Being a horse people, and horses being their primary domesticable animal, Their diet includes a lot of horse meat, in addition to chicken. Their favourite dish is stewed horse ribs, with peppers, which are native here.   They eat a variety of fish, shellfish are common here too, but their favourite is octopus, braized, with garlic and onions, and a variety of spices. While they have ample farming space, and fertile land, their farming of garins is only on a small scale, as they prefer vegetables, especially peppers, which is features in most of their traditional foods.

Clothing

Their leisure clothing is exclusively made up of thin robes, made of cotton, or silk for the rich. they usually come on many layers and pieces, held together with ribbons, they generally use light but soft colors, that done contrast too much with their skin. For footwear, they prefer long boots, and short heel for the men, and the women may sometimes choose longer.   For work, they might wear underclothes similar to pleasure clothes, but topped off with sturdy tunics, often horse leather, or thick linen.   Generally, the clothes get thicker and less wide as you get further north, due to temperature, but the idea remains the same.
