Introduction

Yeno, the great capital, is built between two mountains at the foot of a mountain range. The city is fortified with a tall front wall and a drop gate, rendering it nearly impregnable against any potential attackers. The steep drop after the wall is a clever design strategy, making it extremely difficult for any enemy to fight uphill and breach the city's defences. The old city, situated between the mountains furthest into the valley, serves as the residence of the city's aristocracy. There is also a bustling urban area in front of the city, which is called the New City and is guarded by a smaller wall.

Water and food supply

Yeno was built with the intention of being self-sufficient and strong enough to withstand any threat. To achieve this, several secret passages were constructed to provide safe passage out of the city, and a large stockpile of food is stored within the walls. Furthermore, there are several farms inside the city walls, ensuring a secure supply of food. The city is built around a modest river that flows from the mountains into the city, creating a small man-made lake within the walls. This lake provides a secure and reliable source of water, which is of the utmost importance. To ensure the water remains drinkable, the city prohibits disposing of any waste, human or otherwise, within the city limits. There are huge waste dumps outside the city gates, and their unpleasant smell helps to discourage any potential attackers.

City of Palaces

Yeno boasts several palaces, including the grandiose Yenoan royal palace. This palace complex is a sight to behold, with numerous towers, square gardens, and square roofs. Many other noble families also have palaces within the city, though none can compare to the grandeur of the royal palace.
