The Thinco Detective Agency
A newer power player on the scene, the Thinco Detective Agency is a mercenary organization notorious for selling its services to the highest bidder. While this has put them at odds on occasion with the law of the land, their additional talents as investigators makes them just useful enough to the Wresnet government to prevent their destruction as an unlawful entity. The Thinco Detective Agency recruits its members (collectively known as Detectives, even if they do not specialize in investigation) from all walks of life. They don't care about your class, race, gender, or background, as long as you have talent. They are even rumored to employ unregistered magic users, although this has never been proven.
As their name implies, the specialty of the organization is investigation. They also, however, often hire themselves out as adventurers, bodyguards, and mercenaries. This sometimes puts their Detectives on the wrong side of the law, but the legal contracts that each Detective signs upon being employed guarantees that the company is never held accountable for the actions of its agents.
Structure
The Thinco Detective Agency operates via a network of authorized "franchises" scattered throughout Wresnet. In some larger cities, these may be offices with one or more Detectives actively on staff; in smaller towns, they may simply be innkeepers licensed to speak on behalf of the organization. Whatever the case may be, these franchises are equipped to house Detectives, to research cases, and to summon more Detectives in the event that they are needed for a job.
Although the headquarters are based in Fortuna, their exact location is a closely guarded secret. Information to and from the headquarters is directed through a series of redundant sources, ensuring that tracing them is next to impossible.
