The Land of Metal
Found within the The Falling Sea in the south west region of Weste's Isles is the civilization collectively known as the Land of Metal.
Structure
Unlike ordinary nations, the Land of Metal is a loose collection of settlements and regions ruled by various nobles and royals. Together the various rulers and their lands make up the Land of Metal. Each ruler sets its own laws and maintains its own lands. Though this nation has known peace for countless generations it is common for rulers to settle disputes in duels or skirmishes between armies.
Public Agenda
As a whole, the Land of Metal has no official agenda other than continuing to exist. The individual rulers that make up the leadership faction may all have their own unique agendas, however.
Assets
The various rulers that make up the leadership of the Land of Metal have numerous castles and other fortifications, warriors or small armies sworn to service and whatever resource that is found within their lands.
History
Though the true founding of the Land of Metal has been lost to time, many historians and scholars consider the creation of the Falling Sea to be the founding of the Land of Metal. During the year the Fall of Magic is considered to have started, Hino Orr, the then Saint of Seas, created the Falling Sea and cut off the entire archipelago from the outside world. Following this event, the Land of Metal underwent a major shift in culture and society. The people here began to write down their history instead of relying on sages to remember and retell history. Unable to rely on the outside world for anything they began to rapidly advance their agriculture and industry to be independent. Knowing they cannot rely on aid from the outside world they began to develop their own knights, later known as samurai, as well as weapons and fighting styles that make up for their lack of numbers. Though this time of rapid change was essential to the survival of the Land of Metal and the innovations to come out of it have made it the nation it is today, it should be said that this time was full of turmoil and warfare. Many lords and ladies rose to power or fell to uprisings and neighboring rulers. Settlements fell to ruin and historic bloodlines were cut short. To the inhabitants of the Land of Metal, this was known as the Imai Period, named for the most notable warlord family of the time.
Religion
Throughout the Land of Metal, there is no single official religion or deity they worship. One region may worship a god of some sort while another may worship saints and another still may worship spirits of nature or ancestors. There are also regions that do not practice any kind of worship at all and instead focus spiritually on the self and improvement.
Trade & Transport
The technology and method of safely crossing the Falling Sea's border is a closely guarded secret. In the 500 years since its creation, outside nations have yet to figure it out. As such, ships from the Land of Metal or the Garden have monopolized the process. Passengers passing to or from the archipelago are often kept in rooms where they cannot observe the process. Within the Falling Sea trade and transport are done via ships like any normal archipelago would rely on.
Education
From region to region, laws and traditions may differ depending on the ruler and education is no exception. Some regions make it mandatory for children to receive a basic education while in other regions education is voluntary and not always required for individuals to lead long successful lives.

Major Exports
With the inhabitants of the Land of Metal and the Garden being the only ones with the knowledge and means to cross out of and into the Falling Sea safely, imports are incredibly rare and the people practice the exportation of goods mainly. With the islands under the control of the Land of Metal being rich in unique metal ore and their more advanced knowledge of metalworking, it is easy to understand that the main export is metal goods. Whether they are the weapons forged from their prized Folded Metal or specialty parts that are stronger than what can be made outside the sea. The Land of Metal has also been known to export the smiths themselves to other lands for a time.
In addition to metal, they have been known to export other goods such as rare medicinal herbs, local crops and other unique resources.
