"From the great and supernatural forging of Daemor in The Incendiaar Foundry to the birth and growth of Ucrua due to the need of forges, forging has truly shaped the history and the future of our world in many aspects of everyday and not-so-everyday life, from travel to troops, magic to mining."
- Haral Smith, Ucruan Historian
Few technologies have been more influential over the history of The Wraith Globe than forging, and it all began with the Incendiaar Foundry, the famous forge of the great pike that pierced Artukos' heart, Daemor. Just the idea of a massive boiling pot in which you could shape metal excited the Dwarven peoples of the early eras, and soon forging began to become widespread across The Material Plane. Many different things came from this, including the birth of nations that could not have ever existed without forging: Ucrua and the three Dwarven nations of
Vlhaladir. These forging nations consequently fueled the supplies and weapons of the wars of The Wraith Globe, changing the history of the Finite Races irrevocably with
The High Cataclysm and the proceeding recession of the Lords from the mortal world. And, of course, without forging, Ucrua would never have discovered the technological advancements that it does now, slowing or even halting the technological growth of the mortal world significantly. Magic would also be much more primitive if it weren't forging. Magical items would not exist, and spells that require metal objects as components would also be impossible to cast. Furthermore, Mining would be much less mainstream without the use of iron tools and equipment. Truly the list goes on and on as you go forward in time, and it all started with the forging of a weapon of the Lords. One should expect no less than the Finite Races will eventually follow suit.
