Pearce - Fraudulent Blacksmith

Pearce has always wanted to be a well renowned blacksmith, however, Pearce was never graced with talent. Working hard to all his life to amass the funds to start his dream business, several failed apprenticeships later, he set up in Ankhet. Pearce saw no business however, his ineptitude with a hammer and anvil saw customers merely mock him for his erroneous attempts at smith horseshoes and other simple items. Lamenting his time spent and funds lost, he resolved to make his business a success but did not know how, at his lowest point, two whiskey bottles into his evening, he was visited by Tace, a devil from the lower plains seeking to use Pearce to amass him souls. Gifting Pearce with a set of shackles and guided him through the process of summoning and binding an Azer, Pearce now has what he wants, a successful business thanks to the efforts of the Azer. The allure has worn off for Pearce as his business is a success but not by his own skill and hammer. Tace failed to mention that the shackles harbour a creature, when bound to another entity the creature is released from its prison and assaults the local area at night, claiming lives and souls for Tace. Pearce once had a sister that died when she was only 19, this is the memory Tace is drawing on to select victims and by proxy allow him to steal their souls, due to a manufactured connection via hellhounds hunting from Pearce’s memories of her.
