Amaranthine

The City of Amaranthine was the center of the Arling of Amaranthine on the coast of the Waking Sea. It is located north of Denerim and connected via the Pilgrim's Path.
The City of Amaranthine also attracted many pilgrims from all over Thedas. This city is where Maferath assembled his armies to invade the Tevinter Imperium and where Andraste first revealed the Chant of Light.

History

Amaranthine was burned to the ground in 9:31 Dragon after being invaded by darkspawn under the command of a sentient darkspawn, The Mother. Warden-Commander Kallian Tabris made the decision to abandon the city when she received notice that the darkspawn were also moving to attack Vigil's Keep.
