Anderfels
Home of the Dragon Phalanx
The Anderfels is the kingdom of the dragonborn, found in the Northwest of Thedas. Very little is known about this nation as the inhabitants of this strange land are very hostile to foreign intrusion.
No cartographer is quite sure for how far the Anderfels stretches out. Some assume it's a small nation with a strong border while others tell tales of a kingdom that reaches further than any man could ever dream of. Put simply, no foreigner truly knows.
Culture and Society
This corner of the world is where the dragonborn reside. Nevarrans regularly see them patrolling their border, but members of the Eastern nations could never imagine such strange creatures. Foolish warlords have considered leading conquests into the Anderfels, but few would ever join in such a journey. Dragonborn are held in high regard in almost every nation, particularly due to their "incorruptible good".History
Few accounts have been made of the dragonborn leaving their lands. Thus, their history is almost entirely unknown. The most noticeable event was during the First Exalted March centuries ago. In the Northern hills of Nevarra, Andraste's army had met Tevinter magistrates in battle. Being far more adept in the arcane, the Tevinter mages began unleashing demons from the Fade upon Andraste's army. This fight lasted for three unrelenting days, and it seemed certain that march had met its end. In a fight that seemed nigh unwinnable, the dragonborn came from across the Western mountain tops and drove their army head first into the sea of demons and other abominations. They broke down the lines of the Tevinter magistrates, decimating all they deemed evil. As quickly as they came, they left and returned to the Anderfels. When Andraste and Maferath asked them why they had come, they were supposedly met with few draconic words that are now lost to time. Many interpretations exist, all of which express wildly different things. The history of Thedas was shaped wildly by their intervention. Those who choose to remember this honor them as the Dragon Phalanx. They serve as symbols of justice throughout the land. Stories have lived on about these strange people. Common knowledge has it that the Dragon Phalanx are "incorruptible good".Location: Northwestern Thedas
