Broadsheet Guild
The Broadsheet Guild, also known as the Writ, is a powerful guild in Val Royeaux. Its leader is the elegant Lady Lavinia de Salle, inventor of the printing press.
The guild controls many of the city's eastern theatres, taverns, and gambling halls. Above all, the guild is recognized for their broadsheet publication: the Royan Inquiry.
The symbol of the guild is a public writ.

The Presses
The Presses is the beating heart of the Writ. Twice weekly the guild's reporters and writers publish another edition of the guild's free, public broadsheet: the Royan Inquiry. It contains all sorts of stories ranging from recent events to upcoming events to large-time scandals to investigative journalism. ThanksNorthgate
Northgate is the most frequently traveled through city gate in all of Val Royeaux. Everyday, thousands of people travel between it whether to be going to their job or to be returning from a long adventure. The Broadsheet Guild prides itself on serving as the overseers of this gate.Entertainment Fellowship
This group represents the best interest for the tavern owners, performers, courtesans, and all of their staff. It brings together many different people that work together but used to not see eye-to-eye. In so doing, the Writ is able to help ensure that performers are able to have less restrictions on their artistic vision than before while those hosting these performers are liable for less of the risk. This has been an overwhelming success, allowing for many performances that otherwise never would've made it to a stage to be seen by the public (often being met with overwhelming success). The Soleil Group
Spending time at a gambling hall is a common evening past-time for even the city's poorest individuals. While inside these casinos, one is able to pretend like they're the noble they always believed they deserved to be. This group represents the casinos' best interests with the Writ, though the group isn't very public about its endeavors. Most people agree that getting put in contact with this group means you've ticked off some powerful people and may well find yourself in unfortunate circumstances soon enough.History
This guild is slightly younger than L'Assayer's Guild. After Amrita Devasi founded that guild, her and Lavinia de Salle got into contact with one another. Purportedly, a short time later Countess Devasi personally brought forth the funds to elevate the Broadsheet Guild to one of Val Royeaux's major guilds and thus gave them a seat on the Privy Council. The exact nature of their discussions or what deals they may have come up with one another are unknown and it's unclear if the two are even still on friendly terms.
