Giants
Giants are a rare species found on Theia. Many Giants prefer to live secluded and only interact with other creatures when absolutely necessary. Of course there are some exceptions.
There are 5 confirmed and acknowledged sub species of Giants as well as several disputed ones.
Half-Giant: Both Firbolgs and Goliaths are said to share genetic similarities with the Giant race. While Firbolgs seem to prefer the company of Elves and Fey creatures, Goliaths are known to socialize with Hill- or Stone Giants on occasion.
Troll [Halmingr]: On rare occasions female Hill Giants have accepted Half-Giant suitors. More often than not the offspring of such a union ends up being a misshapen creature with a broad frame and long arms of a Hill Giant, but having short legs and a bulbous swollen face. These deformed creatures, known as Trolls, are often ostracized along with their mother.
Hill Giant [Fellnar]: Hill Giants are the smallest and most common of the Giants. Their exceptionally low intelligence makes them susceptible to being captured or manipulated. The Orkish tribes of the Uruk-Plains for example, keep many Hill-Giants as slaves or beasts of burden.
Ettin [Tvennar]: Ettins are the result of a genetic failure within Hill-Giants. Twins growing in their mothers womb will almost always emerge as a co-joined entity. These abominations are considered a disgrace to their family despite their usually superior intellects.
Stone Giant [Grötnar]: Stone Giants are leaner and taller than Hill Giants. Their skin is smooth and hard like polished marble and unlike other giants they do not grow hair. The only known Stone Giant clan lives as part of a Goliath tribe within the Ard-Corragan Highlands.
Fire Giant [Brynnar]: Fire Giants often have hair of literal flame or skin of cracked obsidian. It is said their craftsmanship surpasses even that of the Dwarves, however they are considered the most violent and aggressive of Giants, thus making potential trade of these finely crafted goods a challenging ordeal.
Frost Giant [Jötnar]: Frost Giants are among the tallest of their race. They exude an aura of freezing cold and are known to be cruel and cunning. A clan of Frost Giants, living in the region west of the Frostfang mountains in Phallangeia, have been mortal enemies of the Hholvari Dwarves for houndreds of years.
Cloud Giant [Vynnar]: Cloud Giants are the smartest and most sociable of all Giant kin. Their home is the flying city of Zephyros. It is currently unknown how Cloud Giants sustain themselves far up in their hovering home. Some have speculated that they consume clouds or simply absorb energy from sunlight.
Storm Giant [Hregnar]: The existence of Storm Giants is thus far unproven. They are creatures of myth and legend said to be able to control and merge with thunderstorms. Some people claim to have seen the shapes of mighty warriors in the clouds, believing it must've been Storm Giants.
