Phallangeia

Phallangeia. A realm that has seen two great wars and the arrival and near extinction of multiple species.
These days Phallangeia is devided into four kingdoms:

The northern Kingdom of Hholvar. Dominated by icy tundra and large snowcapped mountain ranges near the coasts. Hholvar itself is devided into six states each ruled by one of the six great dwarven clans.
The capital of Hholvar is Kuthdurr. A city build into a massive crater, with roads spirraling down toward a lake of lava at the bottom of this pit.

The eastern Kingdom of Siobhyr (pronounced Shevir) is home to ~85% of Phallangeias Halfling population. The once friendly and openminded folk has been turned mistrusting and reclusive by the two great wars that decimated both their territory and population. Siobhyr is protected by a ring of marshland that cuts it off from the rest of the continent. Only one major road leads travellers to Siobhyrs capital city Glennmore.
Technically part of Siobhyr is the island Finarum Elveyr (elvish for the last forest). Here the final remains of Phallangeias Elvish society guards an ancient secret.

To the west lies the Silverridge Coast, named after the remarkably ore-rich mountain range that devides this kingdom. The western half is known as Aederon. Once home to a society of Elves lead by Aedara Windlance, it now lies in ruin after the second great war. The once great castle and surrounding city of Aedersfort has become the seat of the second sons or daughters of the ruling King. Some have tried to return its former glory but to no avail. Many believe a curse lies upon these lands.
East of the Silverridge lies the Kingdom of New Mercia and the capital city of Seastone. Founded by Igni refugees after the Fall, New Mercia has faired much better during the war thanks to its natural defenses. With the open sea to one side and the mountains to the other any attacking army is forced to march in through the woodcrack forest. A route that, as history has shown, lends itself very well to ambushes by crafty defenders.
Now in times of peace New Mercia is a busseling trade empire that sees shipments arriving from both Cerys and Uthorell.

And finally the southern Kingdom Darrin. Despite being the largest fo the four kingdoms it is by far the least populated. The Majority of Darrin is uninhabitable desert land, which is why four of the five major settlements are located near the coast. Only Al'Solar, a town growing in the shadow of the searing mountains, truly lies deep within the desert.
The capital of Darrin is Al'Karash, most famous for the awe inspiring floating Sky-city. Al'Karashs middle tier, the Sand-city, is home to about 58% of Darrins population, which is about as diverse as you will find.
The lower tier known as the Shadow-city is the only place outside of Cerys where one might encounter Duergar or Drow.

Right at the central point of the continet, where the borders of all four kingdoms meet, Quarterstone city stands as a tall and proud representation of the age of peace. Quarterstone city (named after The Quarterstone ) is a melting pot of all societies and acts as a central gathering point for the rulers of the four kingdoms. For twenty years now* the city has been competently govened by mayor Arathorn Cole.
