The Sun Goddess
A story told to the first Humans, by Arcanox The Silver Dragon, was that of his first meeting with Ithunaryss.
To further his understanding of the star that shines down upon Theia he left the boundaries of this world and flew all the way to The Sun.
Disconnected from the Arcane weave of Theia from which he draws his strength, Arcanox was at great risk of not returning home. Despite that he ventured forth and flew as close to Ilios as the searing heat would allow.
Twice he flew around the sun and on his second passing he was struck by a wave of solar energy. Two things happened in that moment.
Arcanox fading strength was suddenly renewed and more curiously: The tendril of starlight that struck him began to take shape. Mimicking the dragons appearance, it solidified into the shape of a golden dragon.
"What are you?" The golden dragon asked. Baffled yet intrigued Arcanox replied simply with his name.
"And what am I?" This the silver dragon did not know, but still he answered with a name. A name derived from the primordial words for inexplicable and beatiful: Ithunaryss.
No one can say for certain whether or not this story is true. (The great silver dragon was famously mischievous at times) but regardless of her true origin Ithunaryss was for a long time considered one of five prime deities.
If the legends are to be believed, Ithunaryss created the continent Uthorell and the dragonborn race. Creations that fit in seamlessly with the rest of the world. However something changed around 200 years after the spark. The goddess began to create new creatures, creatures of evil nature like the Chromatic Dragons. She even gave Theia a secondary moon later called Ithu.
The other gods became frightened by these new creations. It is unknown whether they simply banished her, or if the goddess was killed by her fellow deities. What is known, is that in 221ps. the sun turned black for a year almost as if the star was mourning. Belief in the sun goddess has dwindled ever since.
The only remaining temples to her can be found in Uthorell and in the Darrin desert of Phallangeia where an order of bloodhunters, called the children of the sun, still pray for her return.
