While digging into the past on the Isle of Versen, archaeologists uncover one of the demonic gates that was used as an escape route after the war of Freedom. The nations of Cathra and Canate warred with one another over control of the gateway leading to the activation of the portal. Both nations suffered heavily as the Isle was overrun by demon hordes. Three Heroes rose during the fighting, though not all on the same side. These three saw the need for law and order and drove back the hordes. In the aftermath of Calvin's ascension, these three were the next in line becoming known as the tribunal.
