Wylderback

We honor those who became before, our ancestors the Wylderbacks, who flew with dragons. But we are not stupid enough to toy with them. They can crush you easily, tread carefully.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Wylderbacks have muscular arms with loose skin leading to its legs. Allowing it to glide in the air. They have tusk protruding from its lower jaw.

Ecology and Habitats

They prefer high elevation areas such as mountain ranges or dense forests. This gives them the proper elevation to glide and see their prey, or move around without much climbing. They need plenty of food so areas were there are to many other predators that have to constantly fight might not be best for them.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Omnivorous. Birds and game it can catch as well as fruits.

Biological Cycle

They stay at in places so they don't have to climb much but they will have to eventually. The older they get the harder the climb is, eventually they just never go back up again or they never come down again. So older wylderbacks will have senior communities on the grounds somewhere near their old homes.

Additional Information

Domestication

It is much easier for an Orsai to tame a wylderback than anyone else. It comes from trust and not force, as the wylderback will just fly into a rage if mistreated. Food and water freely given, is required first to establish a pattern. Then once you are familiar, finding their nest and bringing food to will help establish you to the group. At this point the young ones should become interested in you, play with them and gain their trust. Then if you can lead them to your home, show them cooked food and warm houses, soft beds and safe spaces. If they trust you they will sleep somewhere in the village if not specifically in your home. If they don't trust you they will return home.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Their kept as companions or labor or beasts of war. These are some of the positive uses, some kill them for sport or for use in arenas or various other uses one could think of.

Facial characteristics

They have tusk coming out of their mouths with wide noses.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

There are some in Zafarra and Ashenia.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The range of smell on of them is amazing. They could catch a scent on the wind for at least ten miles.
