Ball Beetle
Ball beetles are magical creatures that, when threatened, produce a spherical force field around their bodies and simply roll away. They average just under two inches from tip to tail and their force fields tend around three inches in diameter, though up to four inches has been observed. These force fields are used not only for protection but are also part of their mating ritual. Female ball beetles are apparent experts in size and hardness, and will only choose the most well-defended beetle to mate with.
