Melgoss

You never thought your humble journey would end here, at a wild and overgrown garden so like the one you hail from. But this field boasts a selection you could only dream of, which, of course, is exactly why you're here.   It doesn't feel quite right to enter this haven with nary a knock or a greeting, but the plants part for you, inviting you down a gently winding path draped with vines and flowers. More than a dozen catch your eye, but you stay your hand - best not to be greedy. Most could not thrive in the climate you call home, anyway.   The gentle breeze picks up, and petals swirl. Loose leaves and flowers drift into a silhouette, resembling somewhat a slender human, or perhaps an elf or nymph. Mortals did not yet exist when this one came to be - perhaps it would be more true to say that elves resemble it.   The figure does not speak, but you sense its curiosity, and a warmth you decide to call kindness. Will it understand your words?   You decide it best to offer instead a picture of your request - the last and rarest dragon daisy to complete your collection, sketched by hand in your worn leather journal. There is instant recognition, and the warmth blossoms. Wind swirls again, and your vision is blurred.   When it clears, you find yourself no longer in the haven, but in your own little meadow garden, so carefully and lovingly unkept. In your hands sits the brown-and-yellow seed you've so desired, and though the deity is no longer near you, its message rings clear:   There is no love but that which grows.
