Morlet

It is not the end which frightens you, but the eternal, endless fall. The earth makes no effort to stop you as you leap from its edge. Time bends.

It takes centuries for your body to decay in an instant. It takes seconds for you to hurtle downward inches in a year. How much further? How much longer? One question, two answers.

The star's radiation pushes against you, drawing you in. Closer, closer, and when it is so very nearly within reach, you realize that it never will be. You cannot hold that same power which compels you to reach for it. There is no beginning, and there never has been. There is no end, and there never will be. You cannot stand at the center of infinity, for no such center exists.

It is not the fall which frightens you. Why fear what can't be stopped? Oblivion embraces you with open arms, and still you fall.
