The Cult of Perfect Accord
The Cult of Perfect Accord is one of the largest, oldest, and most widespread organizations on Thera. Some mistakenly believe its members worship the Balanced - Jahra, Obis, and Meidhoth - but this is not entirely true. Certainly the cult is concerned with these deities and their machinations, but to say they worship them is something of a... misunderstanding. Some say the cult is evil, but this is not quite true either - not would it be accurate to say they are wholly good.
Jahra, Obis, and Meidhoth are unique among the Endless gods both in their dual nature and their cyclical interactions with each other. Each deity can only influence whichever aspect of their domain is most prominent in the world. In Jahra's case, a dearth of war and conflict would focus her power on peace, pursuing it more and more relentlessly until there was no war left. But why is this a problem, you may ask? Surely a relentless pursuit of peace can only bring good things? It is important to remember how the Balanced interact: peace leads to freedom, freedom leads to chaos, chaos leads to war, war leads to slavery, slavery leads to order, and order leads to peace.
In truth, the Cult of Perfect Accord is concerned with one thing and one thing only: balance. Its leaders know all too well the consequences of allowing Jahra's, Obis's, and Meidhoth's domains to slip too far one way or another. The exponential power gained by each deity as their domain spreads means that tipping the scales too far could result in centuries, even millennia, of strife.
To keep their goals manageable, the cult is divided into three main sects, each representing a deity from the Balanced: The Ceasefire Soldiers (Jahra, war and peace), The Sequence of Havoc (Obis, order and chaos), and The Autonomous Thrall (Meidhoth, freedom and slavery). All sects are beholden to the cult's leader, known as Highest Harmony, but otherwise act independently. With thousands of members across Thera, the cult is not above lying to its lowest initiates about its overall intentions to accomplish its goals.
