Xeipent
The sound of buzzing drowns out your footsteps long before you arrive at the foot of this massive beehive. Bees threefold your size zip past, in and out of a dizzying array of entries and exits. Which one leads to your prize?
You are not the first to tread here, but the honey other mortals seek holds no interest to you. It drips from the walls, begging to be tasted. The deity here does not mind if you steal some. In fact, she would prefer if you did.
You wander this shifting maze for months, ignoring your hunger and thirst. It has not escaped you that this labyrinth has no end, but you cannot turn back. You walk in circles, climb down tunnels, fall up shafts. You can't turn back. Wouldn't the honey taste so sweet? Your ears have grown deaf to the endless buzz, but still it rings in your head.
A shadow shifts; a bumbling bee turns into a monstrous fox, then a pig with two heads. One head morphs into a hawk that grins with yellow teeth.
"My, my, aren't you persistent," it echoes over the drone. Bony wings burst forth from a back now covered in scales. "You must have something quite important on your mind." Your mind buzzes. The pig's head shrivels back inside itself. The hawk turns into a baboon. "Now tell me, weary traveler," it croons, "what can you do for me?"
